Editing past rain data

Post by Repairman77 »

Steve; what is the easiest way to edit past days 'total rain' data in the files, and will it show correctly on the Cumulus main display?
Which file needs to be altered?
In the Data folder there is the Dayfile and the Nov file; would the Dayfile one correct the display for yesterday's rain or would you have to alter all the previous days entries (every 30minutes)?
What is the section of data in the line that shows total rain? I'm sure I've seen a list somewhere on this forum.
Thanks,
Mike.

The format of the log files is in the help and the wiki. The daily totals are held in dayfile.txt, so to correct yesterday's that's what you need to edit. You can also optionally also edit all of the running totals in Nov09log.txt, but they only get used 'internally' for plotting graphs.

Thanks Steve,
Found the pages, edited both Dayfile and the monthly file, and saved, however when I launch Cumulus it still shows the old data (Total rainfall for the day is the one I'm trying to change).
Is there anything I'm doing wrong?
It does show correctly on the Graphs now that I have edited both files, but not on the main Cumulus display page; perhaps that stores yesterday's or today's data for that page somewhere else; not to worry; it'll disappear by tomorrow anyway. :)

Is that today's total or yesterday's? Assuming yesterday's, you would need to edit yesterday.ini (with Cumulus stopped). Or, as you say, it will be gone by tomorrow :)

That's what I thought Steve. Obviously today's changes as you change the calibration; no problem; the totals will be right for the month anyway. :)
