Sunrise/dawn/sunset & daylight saving

My sunrise/set times seem unrelated to reality. I am wondering if I have set things up wrongly in relation to Daylight Saving. I don;'t want to get the messups assciatred with the change to & from Daylight Saving.
I am wondering if I should just leave teh programme set for solar time somehow so I avoid these issues. But them what happens when my computer time changes ?

The most likely explanation is that you haven't entered your co-ordinates correctly - wrong hemisphere, perhaps? How far out are the times? What (approximately, if you wish) have you entered for your co-ordinates?

Hi Steve - it only seems like it's an hour or so out.
Co-ordinates: 37° 14' 58" S, 114° 27' 56" E
I got these from my GPS & they agree with what I got off a map.
Cumulus tells me sunrise is 0814h, it is now 0712h & there is plenty of light
It tells me sunset should be 2158h, I haven't been checking accurately, but I think sunset is actually more like 2058h.

I think your times should be approx 0614 and 1958. The sunrise/sunset routines seem pretty reliable, I can't think of any problems that weren't a result of incorrect settings. You're on EDT now, yes? Is the timezone on your PC definitely set correctly?
If you send me your cumulus.ini file (with any passwords removed, if you've configured any internet settings) I'll try running with it and see what I get.

I think you're at approx 144 degrees east, not 114 degrees.

I am a complete novice to web design - a friend is helping me, but he's pretty busy - got most of it going. I don't even know what I am looking at when I open FileZilla! the help files are gobbledeegook to me on the subject!

As Far As I Know my animated wx banner is unique
(no ads anywhere - just my sense of humour)
However; the static style has been around quite awhile and information for the Cumulus version is here:

Your server must support PHP and you will need to regularly upload realtime.txt (which you are already)
