Wind Chill displaying Temperature.

Just noticed that in my Trends graphs, that the Temperature & Wind Chill seem to be exactly the same.
Looks like Wind Chill = Temperature on all pages & gauges actually.

Using MX 3043 & a Davis VP2.

Presuming I've got something configured wrong.

All my Tags in the pages & realtimeT.txt seem correct, there's not much I've changed in that respect.

Any thoughts on this.

Wind Chill is normally only calculated when the temperature is below 10°C - http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Wind_chill

I probably skipped over that page.

In my head I've always had "Wind Chill", (probably incorrectly), related to those early Spring days where the Temp first starts to see the 30°C mark but the humidity is still low & there's a bit of breeze about.

You know, those quite warm days where you get out of the water somewhere after a swim & absolutely freeze in the light breeze, despite the temperature.

Nope, in my experience of sea swimming in the UK it's freezing* in the water and pretty much the same when you get out.

* Or as an older generation of stoic Brits may say, "bracing"

36°C Air & 26°C water is a bit typical of out Summer up here in Northern New South Wales.

Curious about your Banner David.

In particular the units you use.

MPH, mBar, inches of rain & Celsius. Is that the standard over there? Would have expected to see Fahrenheit for temp, but that's just my guess, not knowing British standards.

UK changed to Celsius many years back, forget exactly when. Rain is personal choice as we tend to here it stated as "so many mm (xx inches in old money) and the pressure is usually done in mb. We stuck with MPH when the rest of Europe uses kph, maybe that is why we are getting out !!

Wishy-washy governments have never bitten the bullet and fully converted the Luddite masses to metric, which means we have ended up with a right mess of units. Whilst we are mainly 'metric'...

Fuel is sold in litres, but car consumption is still in MPG (miles per gallon).

Most other fluids are in metric litres/ml etc, but beer is sold in pints. Doorstep bottled milk is usually pints - shop bought is a mixture of pints and metric.

Most linear measurements are in metres (cm/mm), but roads are still signed in miles, car speedos in MPH.

Weather for the masses is expressed in Celsius, mm of rain (with inches often added verbally), hPa or mb, and wind in MPH (or knots for the nautical types).

The education system works exclusively in metric units, so the poor sods coming out of school have no idea whats going on!
