Rain Display Errors

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

Rain Display Errors

Post by glennpm »

Hi,

I have a reporting problem with my rain totals.

These values are correct in "today/yesterday"

"Rainfall

Today 0.27 in

Yesterday 0.59 in"

- rainfall counter is also correct in data logs

The following are only reporting yesterday's rain

What happens if you restart MX? Are there any messages in the latest diags file about errors in dayfile.txt?

Hi Steve,

There is an error in my dayfile.txt but I can't see it. The first part of this file I input some values to grab monthly rain and alltime values.

2017-01-04 13:06:51.651 Midnight rain found in the following entry:
2017-01-04 13:06:51.651 04/01/17,00:00,34.3,97,33.5,7.0,19.0,82,0.00,0.00,29.574,0.59,65.3,38,9.0,28.2,34.3,0.0,0,0.000,0.000,27.0,0,0.0,90,0.00,0.00

Lines 1-6:

Lines 282-283:

You can't in general have incomplete data in dayfile.txt. You might get away with it if you at least include the daily rain total (even if it's zero). The last two lines don't even have dates on them.

Note also that the date formats have to be dd/mm/yy

Thanks for the followup Steve.

I noticed the date format error as I was fixing things. The last two bad lines were due to me checking the SUM of column O for rain and then forgetting to take the formula out. This prevented new additions to the dayfile. I put zeros in where required and now all is good with no errors.

Thanks for your help.
