Cumulus 1.8.8 Build 865 window sizing problem

Post by RayProudfoot »

Hi Steve,

I've just installed build 865 and it's not possible to resize the Cumulus window. It can only be minimised or maximised. Not a big issue but could you correct it for the next build please?
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

I did think that I had broken the resizing (I think I mentioned this elsewhere). I'll see if I can fix it.

Hold on - I think I'm getting confused here. Do you mean the automatic resizing that it does to fit smaller/non-standard displays?

I've never run it on a standard (1024*768) display, only on my netbook at 1024*600. On all previous builds I could grab the outer border and drag it but that isn't possible.

But what benefit does that resizing offer? I deliberately turned that off, thinking it was pointless. If it's useful, I'll turn it back on.

The problem is the size the window opens to. I can't see all the information in the display without using the scrollbar. I have to drag the top and bottom borders to resize the window so all the info is visible.

I'm guessing you've just commented the code out. Resizable windows are useful for those of us with non-standard displays not to have to maximise Cumulus.

Ray, Cheshire.

I didn't comment any code out; I changed the type of window to a non-resizeable one.

My intention was that the window would open to 'full' size - i.e. so that everything was displayed and there were no scroll bars - that's how it works for me (on various display sizes). If it did that properly, there would be no need for the ability to resize - yes?

The window doesn't open full-size (or maximised) for me. Probably because of my non-standard res. I'll just change the properties of the shortcut to maximise.

I've tweaked the size settings for the next build, so it should hopefully open to full size.

Steve,

Just so you have an idea of how it looks on my notebook here's a screenshot.

Thanks - I think that what I've done will fix that. It's probably best if I just let you try the latest build to see if it's fixed, rather than go through release cycles until I get it right :)

I'll send you a PM shortly.
