Lost in the supermarket...

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

Lost in the supermarket...

Post by Kipuka »

Sorry, really frustrated here.

I've been running CMX successfully here on a brand new RPi for a couple of months. But I am in a very remote location and my broadband is metered and I've been running out of allocation ever since i got this up and running. SoI went in today and turned off the rapid fire setting as i update WU so mt irrigation controllers can take the data and water more efficiently. Five minute interval ought to be enough and hopefully this will reduce the data load sufficiently. Sadly, as soon as I did this CMX has been unable to get data from the weather station. it shows it is still connecting but no data is found and so when it comes time to update WU there is nothing to send.

I use the ip address and 8998 port and can see the console so CMX is running -- cumulus update time is up to date but station update is still stuck at 11am this morning. I would like to restart cmx but i cannot remember the commands to do that. i have resorted to logging into the davis vp2pro with weatherlink. it sees the station and it is gathering data and logging no problem. In fact, even in the dashboard of cmx on port 8998 all the gauges show live data beuing received. but still the grapohs in WU show a flatline from 11 local (KHIPHOA5).

Basicly I managed to get thius up and running and even came close to getting the auto restart script for cmx to run then gave up in fristration about a month ago as i just didnt have any more spare timne to give to it. so now my addled mind has lost the secret incantations required to make thius work. i am working alone here running a nursery and bandb business and i am stretched thin. so i need this system to keep irrigation working yet i am having a hard time holding onto all the esoteric commands and such to keep it running. help?

To shutdown CMX, just press <Ctrl>C in console session. Restart it with the station attached to rPi (obviously!).
