MX .........?

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

MX .........?

Post by thenioux-meteo »

I like cumulus as software :bash: :bash: and congratulations to the designer because this software is simple and easy to use for beginners and non-IT
but I really do not understand why the MX release is so complicated, so little practice so difficult to use and bug all the time and that requires so much computer knowledge! why complicate, why not simple to use, it would avoid so many posts on this forum and so much lost time trying to run software that is ultimately not very compatible with the rest of the PC or other computers
I abandon the idea of using cumulus mx too much time spend nothing and no conclusive results

I'm sorry you find MX to be so very poor and hard to use. I've done my best to produce software which works with 10 different weather station types and runs on Windows, Linux, and MacOS. I guess I shouldn't have bothered, I'm clearly not clever enough for the task.

But I can assure you that at no point did I decide to make MX difficult to use and have lots of bugs (Is it? Does it?). And in any case, it appears that hundreds of people are using it as their main software and didn't have any problems getting it running. I guess it's a question of attitude. Good luck with whatever software you decide to use, I hope the support is worth what what you pay for it. Or perhaps, as we say here, you should "put your money where your mouth is" and write your own software. Goodbye, and good luck!

critics are used to advance
MX cumulus did you 1 software for diffirent type of machinery, and bone, so that the use has complexiter
cumulus 1; 9 is easy and very simple to use
MX why Cumulus is not as simple as clicking on exe as cumulus 1.9
I have to try on APPLE MAC, no good result
I try WINDOWS 10 no good result

for me and many say the French MX cumulus is not a good and complicated to use

I continue to use Cumulus 1.9 is very good and much easier to use

this is a good review;)

Your point is taken; you want something I am not offering. The fault therefore lies with you, not with the software. And to make your very first post on a support forum "I am giving up with this software" is not a sign of someone who is actually interested in using the software anyway. It is more a sign of someone who just wants to be a troll.

This is a good review of you as a user ;)

I'm done with this thread now, I have better things to do :)

language defects often causes misunderstandings
I try cumulus mx this bug departure has opened I do not give little error report because it does not work and that the software does not start !!!!
software that is simple to use that has less profit-sharing
everyone is a computer and programming prodigy
I make amateur weather for 3 generations
my grandfather was writing in notebooks during 60 years
my father has used the so-called modern station for 40 years
I utise the so-called modern weather station for 10 years
My profession is not in the computer but in the farming community and hotellerie
celu when software is easy to use and we keep on talking in
MX cumulus is not easy to use in comparison with Cumulus 1.9

As I'm sure Steve would have said - did you read ALL the installation instructions and follow them to the letter? The s/w is dependent on other system components ( eg mono-complete on Debian) and even then it requires a particular version. Most of the start up errors are down to forgetting one or more small details.

You should simply have asked for help with your bug report to get you up and running quickly.

You say Cumulus 1.9 is easy to use, have you stopped to think that you may have just been fortunate and never had a problem? Would you have attacked 1.9 and the developer in the same manner if you had had an issue?

I'm off to yell at Bill Gates now!
