Crazy rain fall and

I have a ws-1090 ambient weather station. about a month ago, I start getting the following errors.

10/3/2016 6:45:00 PM : Ignoring high hourly rain: 9029.70 mm
10/3/2016 6:45:00 PM : Ignoring high rain rate: 108356.40 mm/hr
10/3/2016 7:10:00 PM : Ignoring high hourly rain: 355.47 mm
10/3/2016 7:10:00 PM : Ignoring high rain rate: 4265.68 mm/hr
10/3/2016 7:11:00 PM : Ignoring high hourly rain: 355.47 mm
10/3/2016 7:11:00 PM : Ignoring high rain rate: 4264.01 mm/hr

I replaced the batteries. When that didn't help, I ordered a new transmitter. That didn't help. Sometimes it will show rain fall in under 20 mm/hr when it is sunny outside. I also updated Cumulus to the latest update. Unplugged all the data cables in the transmitter and still get errors.
Not sure where to go from here. Not sure if it is Cumulus or Ambient.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Have you selected the correct station type in Cumulus? You probably have, as it was working OK previously, but that's the only way that Cumulus could be getting the rainfall figures wrong.

Garbage data is a very common feature of Fine Offset stations. Cumulus filters out a lot of it automatically (as those messages indicate it is doing) and you can use the "spike removal" settings to help it filter out even more.

Someone may be able to suggest something that you can try with the station to make it produce better data - a USB cable with ferrite chokes can sometimes help, for example. Or it could be that something is interfering with the transmissions from the rain gauge.
