Importing historical weather data from other sources

I just set up my weather station on 08 October, and would like to have weather information from the first of the year. I found that with the sufficient amount of patience you can download hourly (more or less) data Weather Underground. However, I was not able to successfully import this data into Cumulus. I managed to patch together the Dayfile.txt file and for the most part this worked. However, when I attempted to use the ???09log files that I created I got some surprising results. I was wondering if there is a tool for importing data from outside sources.

Thanks.
Jim H.

I'm not aware of any tools for importing 'external' data. I can't think of a reason for a 'constructed' monthly log file to not work, provided it's using the correct format. It may be simpler just to settle for 2010 being your first full year, particularly as the data you record will not really be comparable with data from another station.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply. I had kind of come to the same conclusion anyway. It will probably take me a while to get everything set up here to get good readings anyway.

I'm really enjoying getting this set up, and appreciate your good work on Cumulus.
