CumulusMX on OS X

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

CumulusMX on OS X

Post by ParkyZA »

Hi

I have a Fine Offset 3081WH. Cumulus Rel: 3041. Installed the latest version of Mono as per installation instructions. There is this pressure reading issue I'm having and any help would be appreciated. The reading will start off correct then on the web interface, then it will jump up by about 50hpa, then it will go back to what it the station is displaying and then lower reading by about 50hpa again. I have checked for any settings i may have missed, but being new to running this on OS X I'm not sure which way to. The one thing i noticed is that the figure changes everything 15 seconds when it uploads to Wunderground. Reading on station is constant. No such huge fluctuations. Station ID is iwestern153 on wunderground. See pressure jumping up and down the whole time.

cheers

Turn on data logging, let it run for a few minutes, and then zip up and attach the latest file from the mxdiags folder to a reply in this thread, please.

It's not just your pressure reading, you are getting all kinds of bad data - Cumulus is filtering out the more obvious garbage. The station isn't returning the blocks of memory which Cumulus is asking for, quite often it's returning the first block of memory. What I'm not sure is whether the problem is Cumulus, Mono, or your console. I know that it used to work on OS X with a Fine Offset station, I've tried it myself.

What version of Mono are you using?

You have a number of duplicate (same timestamp) entries in the log file - are you perhaps running two instances of Cumulus at the same time? That would account for the garbage data.

Mono release is: 4.4 SR1 (4.4.2.11)

I also thought that there might be more than one running and deleted all and restarted the process. But still got same result in the end. What i actually did now after sending you the info you asked for is that I signed up at WeatherCloud, readings are stable and what they are reading on the weather station. I not know. Tomorrow I can drop a version or two in Mono and see what that does and get back to you about it,

thanks for input, will scratch bit more,

cheers
