Intermittent data upload to website

All of a sudden data from Cumulus is failing to upload to my website. However it does so every now and again, every few hours or so.The connection is basically timing out and it says this if I do a manual web update. I can upload an FTP log if it helps but before I do my thoughts are thus:- I'm fairly sure the fault lies with my mini PC or possibly WIndows 10 slowing down. This is because I can upload to my site via a separate PC with an FTP program but not from my mini- PC via the identical FTP program. I can also upload to someone else's weather site from the desktop PC but again not from my mini-PC. My initial thought is a WIndows 10 issue or more likely the on-board wireless adapter as connecting to a browser has become slow or fails as well.
But in the meantime till I resolve it is there a setting where I can give Cumulus a longer time frame before it times out?
Thanks, Dave

You can't change the timeout, but it's something like 20 seconds anyway. If it isn't working in 20 seconds, I don't think it's going to. Better to let it timeout and catch the next upload slot. Or are you saying that only the occasional upload works? Either way, fiddling with timeouts, even if it were possible, is unlikely to help.
Have you tried switching between active and passive modes?

Yes - not resolved but it looks like a Windows 10 issue to me. I don't expect you to reply Steve as it's not a Cumulus issue but just some thoughts on it which may benefit others if it happens. After all sorts of trials and tribulations with drivers and wondering about the network adapter I decided to completely re-install W10 on the Justop low power mini-PC that I run Cumulus on.(Interestingly choosing the option to re-install but keep files, which should just remove apps, it not only kept all my files but also left the Cumulus program alone which still ran). This instantly solved the problem andit was flying but then after about half an hour of browsing and a few Cumulus uploads it stopped again. It's like something builds up. Ran well for a year with same setup. Are W10 updates or something they brought in doing something to the bandwidth and blocking it so it doesn't beat the timeouts. Certainly browsers are slow or timing out as well. An odd one which I will continue to try and solve.
Enjoy your long trip Steve.

Just a thought, are you using wifi to connect to internet? maybe thats on the fritz be it your adaptor or your router, if you have a eth port wire the sucker in and see if that works. Also have you tried to ping/traceroute your server from your mini pc maybe you can see if its dns, a bad node somewhere or even if its your network. But i suspect its some sort of hardware issue with your mini seeing you other system works fine. you can always pick up a cheap usb wifi adapter if you cant hardwire in.
good luck

Hi - thanks for the suggestions. I had a Eureka moment this morning and finally sorted it. I'd been down the route you've suggested with USB etc and as it works fine with Ethernet cable it had to be an Wifi issue. Re-installing W10 probably sorted driver issues so it had to be bad, slow internet/server connection. Then the moment came. Next door have had another family staying with them the last few weeks. Also I noticed that the number of available wifi connections was growing and I thought BANDWIDTH - maybe getting so shared on my channel that it was too slow before being timed out. Used a brilliant Android App called Wifi Analyser and indeed the Channel 4 I was on was one of the worst, very overcrowded and so I changed to the one suggested and - Bingo! It's flying.
That's the problem with a semi-intermittent fault on something that has been working fine for a long time. Easy to get led down the wrong route - or in this case the wrong router!
