my apologies for hijacking this thread a bit. I've made sure all settings correspond between my vp2 and cumulus and it receives all the data perfectly well. But it still seems unable to catch up when i restart Cumulus after a power down or after just closing the application. Maybe I am not understanding the catch up feature?

You can't allow your computer to sleep while Cumulus is running, it can't do the catch up in these circumstances and you will get gaps in your data - this is mentioned in the readme.txt which is shown when you install Cumulus (and is available subsequently in the Cumulus installation folder). See also this FAQ -

It should however download the archive data if it is closed down properly and then started up again later. If that's not working for you even with the logging intervals set to the same value, then I'm not sure what the problem is. It has always worked for me, and I don't think anyone else has this problem. If you close Cumulus, leave it for an hour or so and then start it up again, zip up the diags folder and attach it, and I'll take another look.

ok, just going to bed now so will turn it off then. when i get up i'll see if it updates as you say and if not i will bundle diags and send them your way. thanks for the clarifications...

data log interval in Cumulus is set to one minute. archive interval onvp2 is also set to one minute. are these the two variables i need to make sure match or is there something else on the vp2 that ought to be set to one minute?

That's all you need. No other settings are relevant, by default Cumulus will always try to download logger data when it starts up.

Well Steve, I woke up early and turned on the computer and fired up Cumulus and it did exactly what you said it would! It downloaded all last night's data and then caught up WU.. fantastic! Thanks so much. Can't wait to get my RPi system up and running next week or so....I'm hoping to get it feeding my OpenSprinkler controllers realtime weather data and et calculations for triggers for the system....
