Wunderground Connection and Reporting

I have setup my Cumulus MX and it is reading from the Davis Vantage Pro2 console.
I have added the station data for uploading to Weather Underground.

I know that Weather Underground say that it takes them a day to get the servers updated and then you will see the station online. However, I expected that on my Personal Weather Stations page (https://www.wunderground.com/personal-w ... tion/mypws) it would show "reporting" if it was seeing data coming in. Mine just says "Not Reporting" in the corner. Maybe I need to wait another day?

Is there a way to tell if Cumulus is actually sending data? I could not find any the logs that would tell me if it was failing at sending data to Wunderground.

I added an Outbound Rule on the Windows Firewall to allow data from "C:\cumulus\cumulusmx.exe". I am not sure if that is what the Firewall sees as trying to send data to Wunderground. I found a topic that mentions Web Sockets on port 8002 (https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=14759). I wondered if it should be that port I need to open for uploading data to the web sites (i.e. Wunderground)?

Any guidance will be appreciated.

Data is sent to WU using an HTTP URL (on port 80). If you turn on debug logging, attempts to upload to WU and any response returned are logged to the MX diags file, assuming you're not using rapid fire.

Thanks Steve,
I enabled Debug Logging and deactivated Rapid Fire.
The MXDiags file now shows that it is connecting to WU properly. Also WU is now reporting the data at 5 min intervals.

Any chance it could be a configuration problem that is causing Rapid Fire to fail?
From your past posts I think you mention you don't use it. The WU help file shows that we should enable it. Not sure what it does or how we benefit from it. http://help.wunderground.com/knowledgeb ... re-cumulus

PS. I am running Cumulus MX v.3.0.0 build 3041.

Enabling Rapid Fire will get you the WU Rapid Fire page like http://www.komokaweather.com/weather/wu ... dfire.html
Your WU PWS page will be updated at the Rapid Fire interval.

However, I believe the actual "logging" of historical data at WU is 5 minutes whether Rapid Fire is enabled or not, at least in my case and others that I have seen.

Can you provide your WU ID?

Paul

Hi Paul, my WUID is: KCOLITTL222
Based on the WU help file it implies that it updates every 5 seconds.

I will re-enable the rapid fire and see if the updates still reflect on WU.

I re-enabled the Rapid Fire. Then I notice the WU station does not update.
It may update the Rapid Fire "Full Screen" flash site as I see the numbers changing every 5 seconds, but I am not sure then why the main WU station data does not.
Anyhow, I have disabled it again and the normal uploads are working fine. I will leave it as that, unless Steve wants any tests run.

Just checking now and it seems only updating every 5 minutes, so not Rapid Fire. Your Rapid Fire page does not appear to be responding https://www.wunderground.com/swf/Rapid_ ... COLITTL222. Sorry, I can't help on what may be the cause.

If your rapid fire data is updating at WU with rapid fire enabled, then Cumulus must be sending the data successfully to WU. So any problem thereafter must logically be with WU.

Thanks Steve / Paul for your help.
I had switched the rapid fire off by 8:00pm last night. It seems to be quite stable as it is with a 5min update.
