CumulusMX keeps stopping
CumulusMX has been running without any problem for months on my RPI connected to my Davis Vantage Pro2. It stopped about 12 days ago. Now when I re-start, it connects to the station fine, processes between 47 and 50 archive records and then it stops with 772 lines in the log file. Seems to be exactly 772 lines. The log file just shows it stopping without any errors. The RPI is running fine in that the web server responds and can change things like settings and read log files but it's not showing current weather as it doesn’t get to that point and it adds log entries for that connection to the log file. The program also terminates correctly after <ctrl>C. The RPI has lots of space left for writing files and there don't seem to be any disk errors. Anybody have an idea about what I can try next.

Re: CumulusMX keeps stopping
If you zip up the mx diags folder and attach it, I'll see if I can see anything.
Is it the mx diags file that you're referring to when you say it writes 772 lines to the log file?

Yes it's the MXdiags file, copy attached. It's 776 lines long as it has 4 lines at the end for terminating the program.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: CumulusMX keeps stopping
Sorry Steve, didnt notice you wanted the whole folder not a single file. Folder attached.
Just created a new RPI Raspian image from scratch on a differnt SD card and copied over all the CumulusMX files. Same result and the lates MXdiags file comes from that image.
Thanks

Re: CumulusMX keeps stopping
You're using a very old version of Cumulus MX. This is an issue that was fixed a long time ago.

Re: CumulusMX keeps stopping
Hi Steve
I had updated to the latest version but got lots of errors, didn't connect to website and crashed after a short period so I had reverted back to the one that had worked for months.
Not the right answer.
Upgraded to 3040 and got all the errors again. They all looked like connection errors but there didn’t seem to be anything wrong with any of the settings and no reports from my website and it occasionally worked.
Then I noticed there was an error further up in the logs
NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Searched and found a thread on this relating to the Internet settings and Null rather than zero entries. I changed one of the Internet settings by adding my website URL to the Webcam section which was blank and saved them. Restarted CumulusMX and all now well, no more connection errors.
This is the thread:
https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.p ... +an+object
Reading the thread that might mean there is still a null string check missing.
Will do the right thing in future - fix forward don't try and regress back!
New forum software version is a big improvement, very clear.
Thanks
