Hours of sunshine

If the meteorological day is set to end at 9 am, does Cumulus attributed the right amount of sunshine to the correct day, or does the sunshine roll-over to the next day? A possible issue is that some sunshine might be recorded on a cloudy day if there was some sunshine the day before.
Regarding my previous post about problems with the Instromet datalogger, a replacement board has solved all the issues.
