Daily rain reset to zero after power outage

Anybody experience their daily rain total reset to 0 after a power outage. We had a storm here about an hour ago. And 10 minutes ago, the power went out for about 90 seconds. When it came back on, I restarted my server, and all the data came up, but daily rain was set back to 0 from 0.39. I checked the logs, and it still showed correct there.

If you zip up the MX diags folder and attach it, I'll take a look.

Everything looked OK when it processed the 7.27pm logger entry:
2016-07-05 19:27:30.792 Loaded archive record for Page=0 Record=0 Timestamp=7/5/2016 7:27:00 PM
2016-07-05 19:27:30.792 Processing archive record for 7/5/2016 7:27:00 PM
2016-07-05 19:27:30.792 Page=0 Record=0 Timestamp=7/5/2016 7:27:00 PM
2016-07-05 19:27:30.792 Writing log entry for 7/5/2016 7:27:00 PM
2016-07-05 19:27:30.792 Written log entry for 7/5/2016 7:27:00 PM
2016-07-05 19:27:30.792 Writing today.ini, LastUpdateTime = 7/5/2016 7:27:00 PM raindaystart = 3.13 rain counter = 3.52
But somehow when it logged the first 'live' loge entry at 7.28pm, it had reset the current rain counter to 3.13:
2016-07-05 19:28:00.121 Written log entry for 7/5/2016 7:28:00 PM
2016-07-05 19:28:00.137 Writing today.ini, LastUpdateTime = 7/5/2016 7:28:00 PM raindaystart = 3.13 rain counter = 3.13
The only way I can see that can happen would be if the station is now actually supplying 3.13 for the current rain counter (Cumulus uses the annual total for the counter for Davis stations). It could be that the original 3.52 figure was actually incorrect somehow, but the diags files you've supplied don't go back far enough to see where that figure might have come from (it doesn't get as far as reading live data).
If you want to attach the earlier diags files, I could investigate further. Your July log file would also be useful.

Hi Steve,
Everything is attached. FYI the station and Cumulus both went live the afternoon of 6/19

It looks like your station is now supplying a lower annual rain total than the figure it had been supplying previously. The figure it was supplying started at 3.13 at the beginning of the 5th July, and had increased to 3.52 by 18:32 on the 5th:
2016-07-05 18:32:00.522 Writing today.ini, LastUpdateTime = 7/5/2016 6:32:00 PM raindaystart = 3.13 rain counter = 3.52
But as above, by 19:28 the same day, it was saying that the annual total was 3.13, i.e. it appeared to have lost the rain that had fallen that day.

Very odd. If it is just a one-time occurrence than I'm not too worried. I was thinking about buying a UPS for the server and trying to find a program/write something to tell the server to gracefully shut down in the event of a loss of wall power. Just wasn't sure if the immediate shutdown is what caused the issue.

It doesn't appear to be anything to with the abrupt closing of the platform running Cumulus, it seems to be down to the station. There are some other odd things going on with it, like it sending all of the logger entries when Cumulus asks for the recent ones, even though the it's set to log once a minute, so it should have the entries available. Perhaps there was a temporary problem with the time and date setting on the console.

Wow, sorry for the delayed response. Everything has been good since. I just enabled WOL on the server and installed a backup drive. Next step is to get a UPS which will hopefully avoid these issues in the future, unless there is an extended outage. Thanks again for the assistance.
