Switch to normal running

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

Switch to normal running

Post by tonylewis »

using cumulus MX, windows 10. been using it for about 3 months, and I like it, thank you. Yesterday Cumulus in the command window suddenly decided to "switch to normal running", it did the same this afternoon which means it stopped communicating with the weather station (Oregon) and data lost for half the day. I don't see why this has started, the only change I have made in last few days is installing BT home hub 6 rather than 5, but I don't see how that can have started this. Any ideas most welcome, thanks. Tony

"Switch to normal running" is what it always does. It means that it has finished downloading any logger data and is now reading live data. If it isn't always doing it, there's some kind of problem reading data from the station (which sounds likely from what you say).

If you turn on debug logging and data logging (see https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=12991) then when you have the problem again, zip up the MX diags folder and attach it, I'll take a look.

So sorry not to have replied and thanked you for your post. All righted itself spontaneously and so I had no data to send, though I was logging it all. Then I was away for a while, and been busy and have only just got back to get on with things. I have downloaded your latest build and see that you have fixed a bug where data from WMR200 would suddenly stop, so many thanks
I love the interface in MX, many thanks for doing it all

Yes, it's quite possible that the problem you had was the same as the one that someone else had recently, which I have hopefully now fixed, so hopefully you won't see it again!
