I would imagine it's possible to do, but it looks like no-one has done it. Where is the FreeWX log format documented?

Looking at the format of the Cumulus log file and FreeWX it looks a 'simple' matter of substitution and minor alterations to the data. I shall have a go perhaps this weekend and let you know

Hi,
I found the FreeWx log format explained in the helpfile.
If someone could create a data conversion software it will be nice! :D
I have 8 years of FreeWx data waiting to be converted.
Laurent
Main Log
The main log file is named "freewx.dat". The file is text in comma delimited format and will be written in the folder where FreeWX-Wi is installed. The main log file will only be created if the "Write a data Log File" box in the Comms/Files setup window is ticked. This setting is off by default. If you tick the check box and select an interval, FreeWX-Wi will create a log file of weather conditions

The 18 fields in the order in which they appear in the file are:

Date
Month
Time
Outside Temperature
Outside Humidity
Dewpoint
Windchill
Heat Index
Wind Speed (Average)
Wind Direction
Wind Speed
Wind Direction (Average)
Barometer (sea)
Barometer Trend
Rainfall Rate
Total Rainfall
Indoor Temperature
Indoor Humidity

All fields are logged in whatever the currently selected units are. This file is in comma delimited format and can be directly opened in a spreadsheet application such as Microsoft Excel for further analysis or graphing or it can be opened in Notepad by clicking on the "Logs" item in the main menu and then selecting "Display Log File". You should be aware that opening the current log in another application such as a spreadsheet may stop FreeWX-Wi from writing log entries. It is much better to open a copy of the file by clicking on Logs in the main FreeWX-Wi window and then opening the log file from there. This will open a copy of the current log in Notepad with the name logtemp.csv. You can click on "File" then "Save" in Notepad and save the copy with that name. You can then open the copy directly in your spreadsheet application without affecting FreeWX-Wi or the "real" current log. Note that the main log menu option is available only on the machine connected directly to the weather station ... it is not available on a remote machine running FreeWX-Wi on a LAN.

The freewx.dat log file is "rolled over" at the end of every month. A new empty freewx.dat file is created and the old log file is renamed with the month and year. The filename extension .CSV (Comma Separated Values) is given to the archived logs, for example logApril01.csv for April 2001.
