System Out Of Memory CumulusMX 3038

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

Twitter updates are the only ones which use a secure connection and hence the certificates. Using a mounted USB drive shouldn't be a problem, I use one myself - although mine is a hard drive not flash.

All still running since just after 7pm last night.
So it looks like it is something on the Twitter Updates.

The only thing I can think of is that it's something to do with the way that you've had to install the certificates, as I don't know of anyone else with this problem. That may be a red herring, of course, and it's something else unique to your system that the Twitter component that MX uses isn't playing nicely with.

I think it can only be the Certificates, or at least something to do with before the Certificate install on the Initial loading.

When i was doing a sudo mozroots --import --ask-remove yesterday I was getting No Certifcates Found.

Just tried again now, and it's picked up 5.

So I'm going to try with my Twitter again now..

By the way Steve, are you using a Pi2 or a Pi3 for your Cumulus?

I'm running 2 Different Versions.

Pi1 Runs fine no issues at all.
Pi3 I've had nothing but issues with really.

I have a Pi2 as well, but not really tried Cumulus on that. So may give that a go, as they are just doing some NTP Stuff at the moment.

I'll let you know what happens anyway. As I don't like seeing posts that don't have a final Outcome!

I run my permanent installation on a Pi2, and I use a Pi1 for some testing. I don't have a Pi3.

Well it crashed out again last night (looks like about 22:20) or that was the last website update.

I'll re-image the SD Card this weekend and go from there I think.
Nothing else left to try.

OK Part 4..... Or that's what it feels like.

Now Just downloaded a Fresh Copy of Jessie, onto a New Fresh 16GbSD Card.

Have set-up the Basics.

Now done the following.

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install mono-complete
sudo mozroots --import --ask-remove

I'm getting the same Error I did before on the Certificates Install thread, reluctant to try what I done last time before I go any further have I missed a Vital step?

I tried mozroots the other day when you were having problems with it, and I was getting the same problem. I've just tried again now, and it worked OK. Maybe worth keep trying?

Still getting the same Error.
Might have to try that Pi on Cabled connection instead of Wi-Fi.

As the Pi3 Wi-Fi isn't the fastest really.

Well just tried the cables route rather than Wi-Fi to get the certificates. Still getting the same error.

I'm really starting to come to a loss as what to try next.

Short of trying on a Pi2 I'm not really sure where else to go.

I'm out of ideas, I'm afraid, not that I had many in the first place. And not that it helps, but I'd be surprised if your method of obtaining the certificates actually had anything to do with the problems you subsequently experienced.

Just a Quick update...

AFter pulling my hair out, I done the hack to download the Certs,
Updated Twitter and it started to fail again.

So I done the following.

sudo apt-get remove mono-complete

Then, install the latest version:

sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 3FA7E0328081BFF6A14DA29AA6A19B38D3D831EF
echo "deb http://download.mono-project.com/repo/debian wheezy main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mono-xamarin.list
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install mono-complete

This put on the mono 4.4.1

Then done a $ sudo mozroots --import --ask-remove

Enabled Twitter

It's now been working for the last day or so.
No Errors

I'm guessing the old version of Mono didn't like the Certs and was causing a memory leak possibly?

It does sound like it was an issue with Mono. What version were you using while you were having the problem?
