Lost data and connection to station receiver

Hi. I am using 1.9.4. Running as Fine offset with UV light sensor
I have a big problem. I see that Cumulus can be a bit tender about things happening at different times. It has worked fine for me for many months so I assume I am getting right. But something beyond my control has fritzed it.
Last night we had a power outage which shut down the PC and now nearly all data has been lost and the programme is not talking to the weather station.
The outage was caused by a wind and rain storm with no lightning.
We have no rain records, or any current readings. Wind readings and trends are gone. Yesterdays extremes are gone. Strangely today's extremes are ok ....,except for rain. Restarting Cumulus brings up error when trying to read data from the station.
The station's receiver shows data for all readings, including rain total. So that seems to be OK.
In the Cumulus folder there is a sub folder called data. There are many .txt files that are all readable.
I have tried backing up the entire Cumulus folder to another drive and reinstalling Cumulus and reimporting all data files. No good.
I also removed Cumulus and recalled from my daily backup. No go.
Could you advise the best course of action, please? I need a rainfall and temp recording system and now I have nothing.
Thanks
Nick

The power outage may have caused the console's USB interface to lock up. You have said that that Cumulus "brings up an error", but you haven't actually said what that error is, so it's hard to offer any concrete advice. If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, I'll take a look.
You may need to reset the console to get it to start talking again, Fine Offset stations have a number of known issues which usually require a full reset to resolve (remove batteries and USB cable for a few minutes). Resetting the console can subsequently cause odd data readings, so you may have some tidying up to do after it gets working again. There is information in the FAQ about this. But don't reset the console until it can be determined that's what the problem is.

Courtesy reply.
Thanks for that Steve. I can't telll you the error message, because all I get is the flashing red error "light" in Cumulus.
When next I can get to the PC I will zip the diag folder and post it up.

Click on the error light, as described in the FAQ -

hmm...OK. I thought I had, not because of the FAQ, but just to try something. I will try again later.

OK. Back with the PC.
Attached (I hope) are the diag folder files.
Just a note. The stain's receiver as actually running on battery power at the time of the power outage. Just FYI.
Thanks for your help. If I get tbhis fixed and I can use Cumulus again, a donation is a given. I did not realise there was the opportunity. I spend so little time with the app. It's that easy

D'OH. Ignore that diag file. I used the wrong one. I need to get the one that I backed up on the other drive. Sorry. Overwhelmed by my own efficiency!

You appear to have the usual Fine Offset USB lockup problem; it isn't responding at all:
5/21/2016 21:50:44.156 : 9:50:44 PM Station not responding
You will need to try resetting it - remove the USB cable and batteries for a few minutes. You will lose data as this will have an effect on the archive history in the console, so Cumulus won't be able to correctly fill in the gap since it last read data. This was on the 16th at 0850, apparently, so if your power outage was in the last two or three days, it wasn't relevant, the console had locked up some days before that. Cumulus may get some incorrect data instead of actual archive data when it starts up after the reset.
Assuming the reset works, you should consider using the "Synchronise Fine Offset Reads" setting in Cumulus, if you aren't already, as this should help to prevent the console lockup happening -

Just a note. The stain's receiver as actually running on battery power at the time of the power outage. Just FYI.
So it wasn't actually connected to the PC at the time? It is powered via the USB when connected.

Hi Nick.
I have been using the same station for many years now.
Until recently I also had majors stoppages.
Although it may appear unrelated - have you modified the solar sensor by adding a film layer?
This simple solution seems to impact on several ares of the FOSH system including excessive UV readings, CPU resets and USB 'faults'
I added a 3cm* 1 cm strip of CD 'flimsy' folded into a 1*1 cm layer over the sensor earlier this Spring and faults have reduced dramatically.
It takes a few minutes to make the addition and is well worth a try.
Also, USB faults usually need a reset at either or both ends of the circuit so keep the sensor array within reach
