Cumulus MX and Windows Home Server 2011 Issue

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

The console is apparently closing the data connection. Is it uploading to weatherlink.com?

It's unlikely to be anything to do with ports being blocked if it works some of the time. Do you have MX set to periodically disconnect to allow for wl.com updates?

Your console clock appears to be incorrect (you don't have Cumulus set to update it):

2016-05-02 17:04:51.190 Console clock: 2/05/2016 4:04:57 PM

It's out by an hour, but also several seconds - this means that the MX disconnect will not match the time when the console updates.

Sorry, no idea. As I said, the console is apparently disconnecting the data connection. It's happening a few seconds after the minute, so it's likely to be related to the upload to weatherlink.com.

After some digging i found a way to disable weatherlink.com uploads turns out it's very simple if you have the right firmware in the actual weatherlinkIP module just punch in the IP address of the station and it will bring up a basic webpage where you can uncheck the weatherlink uploads.

firmware i was running 1.0.9 wont let you navigate to it updated to firmware 1.1.1 and bingo can navigate to it

thanks heaps for your help Steve cumulus MX has been running stable for about 8hrs now with no more errors :D

Whilst not addressing this issue specifically - out of sync time was mentioned - with any Windows server, make sure you are synchronising your clock on a regular basis.

Either use the Internet Time setting in Windows itself (click on the date/time, then Change date/time settings then Internet Time making sure that 'Synchronise with an Internet Time Server' is checked and select an appropriate time server.

Or pick any of the NTP time server update applications available.

I run two Windows servers here - 2008 and 2012 editions and both are regularly synchronised to a time server. The advantage of doing this is then any local machines can use your own server to synchronise their own clocks.
