Two oddities setting up CumulusMX in a virtual on a NAS:
I set up a Windows 10 virtual machine on my QNAP TS-251+ (Intel CPU). I set up the USB port forwarding to the VM, and inside the VM confirmed that COM3 from my Davis Vantage VUE was present (though I did not go into the terminal to see if I could get a response from the console). I also ran the "netsh" command as administrator to open incoming connections on port 8998 through the firewall. I copied over a running CumulusMX directory, and set the COM3 port in Cumulus.ini.
But when I start CumulusMX (running as administrator) I see a report that it could not connect to the station. When I try to connect to port 8998 via a web browser I get no response.
Can anyone who has gotten CumulusMX running in a Windows VM inside a QNAP see what I missed? I must have missed two things.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Windows 10 Virtual Machine on a QNAP (Intel) NAS box
Since you have two issues i would start by disabling the firewall firstly on the VM. That way you are not fighting any other issues.
Do you have any logging enabled to see what Cumulus is reporting?
I'm using a QNAP TVS-463, but only as a web server for CumulusMX. Weather Station is running on an Intel NUC with Debain 8.4 (jessie).
I take it you are running the latest Virtualization Station 2.1.5132 for qnap?
