Raspberry Pi Weather station interface.

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

Raspberry Pi Weather station interface.

Post by willip5 »

Hi all,

I have a weather station up and running based on a Raspberry Pi which reads a collection of sensors (10) and dumps it all into a mySQL database. The design is based on the Schools Weather station.

I now need a way to display this information and after casting around Cumulus appears to be the best display system available. I have spent a few hours browsing the forum and wiki but cannot find anything which tells me how Cumulus works, ie does it read a database, does it read the sensors directly or does it call the software to get the readings. Manipulating my database layout or providing the readings in a particular format is not really a problem.

Could someone please point me to this info in the Wiki.

Thanks

Pete

For supported stations, it reads the information directly from the weather station. You can also get it to read a file in 'easyweather' format. See http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/EasyWeather_Format

With MX, configuring the location of the easyweather.dat requires editing the EWFile line in Cumulus.ini
