realtime.txt not uploading

My MX is not uploading realtime.txt from Pi either, had errors after running for few hours today. The realtime.txt is being updated but is in local CumulusMX folder not the web folder before being uploaded.

I moved your post from the thread you originally posted in, as you clearly have a different problem. It makes things much easier for me if different problems are not posted to existing threads.

What errors did you get? Does restarting MX get realtime.txt uploading again?

Note that realtime.txt is always created in the Cumulus folder and not the web folder.

Restarting didn't get it uploading, I checked to see if option to upload realtime.txt was selected in Internet settings earlier which it was but gave errors not able to upload can't find folder/filename.

Have since un-selected realtime.txt upload option in Internet settings and now uploading using Extra Web Files to upload manually. It now uploads ok now with no error for realtime.txt but I have other errors.

I can't tell whether that message refers to web/index.htm on your local system, or cumulusmx/index.htm on the ftp server, but it's more likely to be the latter. Is Cumulus creating an index.htm in the local web folder? If so, then you probably have your remote path configured incorrectly.

index.htm is being created then uploading from local cumulusmx/web folder to server folder cumulusmx ok

I think you'll have to turn on ftp logging to get an ftplog.txt log, because I have no idea what's going on, in that case. And show your settings from Cumulus - Web/FTP Site, Web/FTP Settings, and Extra Files.

You've configured Cumulus to upload the standard files to path cumulusmx, but you have also configured all of the standard files as extra files, e.g.:

ExtraLocal4=/home/pi/CumulusMX/web/index.htm
ExtraRemote4=index.htm
ExtraProcess4=0
ExtraBinary4=0
ExtraRealtime4=1
ExtraFTP4=1
ExtraUTF4=0

The automatic uploads are failing because path cumulusmx does not exist at the point in the hierarchy that your ftp account puts you at login:

STOR cumulusmx/index.htmtmp
553 Can't open that file: No such file or directory

The extra files that you have configured (unnecessarily) are succeeding because you haven't specified a path.

I have just noticed this maybe the cause but they were not selected for process, I have just un-selected the ftp button as well to see what happens.

I origionally had problems on first setup getting the web pages to upload correctly for some reason but fixed that since and left the file details in Extra Web files. I will delete these now.

Have you corrected the directory setting? All Cumulus automatic uploads will fail unless you correct that. It looks like it needs to be blank. Note that not having 'process' selected for an extra file does not mean that entry is ignored, it means the file is not "processed" i.e. it does not have any web tags converted to actual data. It is still uploaded. If you unset 'ftp' it will attempt to copy instead of ftp. You need to remove all of those files from extra files which aren't actually extra files, and just set the directory correctly. Note that there is a lot of documentation about this in the wiki.

Thanks for your help btw.

I have now deleted all entries in Extra Web Files, No files are being uploaded at all now even though the Standard files and Graph files are being generated into the local CumulusMX/web folder, realtime.txt is generated into local CumulusMX folder.

I am at a totel loss now as I did at some point yesterday evening have all files uploading to the web server and the web pages were all updating correctly BUT only when I manualy upload these pages in Extra web files. Which generated lots of errors in the log and cli window.

Please have another look at the attached files.

If all fails I may have to do a complete re-install including raspian and mono again as there are a couple of other problems that keep occuring which may or may not be related.

1. I have to change port number every time I re-start cumulusmx in the cli window before the cumulusmx gui will run rather than the default 8998 (Port not closing ??)
2. I re-named an earlier CumulusMX install to CumulusMXOLD. Installed your latest version then ran it but the Standard files were then being generated and placed in the old install CumulusMX/web folder even though the route folder was re-named. So I had to delete the earlier install.

Maybe some clues there ?

I'm using latest Raspian and updated mono

I have also spent many hours searching through your Please Read First guide and other posts etc for clues but no luck so far.

Can I say I origionaly had cumulus 1 running in windows for approx 1 year, so I am familiar with the cumulus set up, but alas a complete newbie using raspberry Pi.

You still have "cumulusmx" as the directory in the FTP settings. As I have said twice previously, it appears that it should be blank, as apparently you are already in the cumulusmx directory.
