Weird start of Rain data.

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

Weird start of Rain data.

Post by ConligWX »

Hi there.

ok just installed the latest version of Culumus on Debian (Jessie). Station is a Davis Vantage Vue.

All data is set to zero on startup, but some some unknown reason in the console under Edit, Todays Rain Editor, the Current rain counter and Start of day rain counter is reading 343.2mm!!!

where the hell has that number come from? surely it should be zero one startup or have the option for to ignore all values if it is a fresh install?

The rainfall counter is the annual total from the console, so would only be zero if your station had recorded no rain this year. The start of day figure being the same means that you have had zero rainfall today. There is information about how Cumulus handles rainfall in the FAQ and wiki.
