Min/Max Temps different from console VP2

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

Min/Max Temps different from console VP2

Post by Mapantz »

I did a search but couldn't find anything relevant ..

I've just noticed that the minimum and maximum temps that MX has logged are different from my console- not by much, but I'm wondering if there's a simple explanation?
Yesterday morning, the console says -1.1°C - MX says -1.4°C. The max temp on the 14th was logged at 14.1°C by MX, the console says 13.9°C
I've only got 15 days worth of data so far, but the console and MX's min/max temps differ between 0.1 and 0.3°C for 11 of those days.

I think you're going to have to turn on debug and data logging in Cumulus to see what happens at the time that the console says the min and max occur. But I'm not going to able to look into it myself until I return from my holiday next month. (currently sitting in my motor home in Blair Drummond, on my way south)

I'm assuming you have no calibration settings in MX or the console

I turned the debugging and logging on after reading your post, but I haven't had any issues with it, so I turned it off again.

Typically, I've just noticed a discrepancy from yesterday's data... The console logged a high of 11.7°C at 12:29pm - MX logged it as 11.4°C

I've contacted Davis support on this now. Looking at it more thoroughly, I've noticed other issues on the console:

Firstly, if I manually scroll back through each days high temp on the console, it reads 16.1°C as the maximum on March 25th, so naturally, if I select March’s high figures, 16.1°C is the highest figure there too.
If I select the years highs, the maximum temperature says 15.8°C (which was what was sent to MX)
The same is happening to the inside temperature too.. March’s high says 26.1°C – Selecting the yearly high shows 25.8°C
Then the rainfall.. , if I go to the months highs/lows, it shows 91.6mm for the year (Under April) but if I go back to March, then select the highs/lows of the year, it shows the rainfall to be 116.3mm
It's very confusing, but I think I have a faulty console?! :(
