Hello.
Recently I notice big differences between total rainfall in cumulus and total rainfall in official portuguese weather service (they have a weather station very close to my house).
Trying to understand I went to dayfile.txt and in many days there are more than one entry. Thes values for total rainfall are the same in each entry for a specific day.
The problem is that Cumulus is adding these values for the month reports. If I manually zero the duplicate values in dayfile.txt the differences I mention above are gone.
Is there a way to solve the problem without manual intervention?
Thank you.

Your station doesn't have a logger, so of course you have to be running Cumulus all the time - are you doing that?
Have you made sure that your PC isn't allowed to go into standby?
If you are running Cumulus all the time, and you don't allow your PC to go into standby, then please zip up the diags folder and attach it to a reply in this thread, and I'll take a look.

Thank you for the answer.
Yes, Cumulus is running all the time except when the pc reboots or crashes.
The pc is not allowed to sleep.
Attach files as request.

Re: dayfile.txt with more than one entry for some days
I can't see anywhere in those logs where it's writing more than one entry to dayfile.txt, but you seem to have a lot of problems with your PC. Cumulus never gets chance to close down properly, and sometimes the station isn't detected when it starts up.
Some of the diags files are somehow missing. The last entry in cumulus.009, which should be the latest file, is
09/03/2016 10:07:05.532 : Finished drawing initial graphs from data logs
But there is a file cumulus.~og, which starts at
11/03/2016 11:18:01.640 : Cumulus 1.9.4 Build 1095 startup
So I can't see what has happened between those two times.
It looks likely that sometimes you have more than one instance of Cumulus running - that would cause problems with the diags files and also duplicate entries in dayfile.txt - you are also getting file access errors, which is another sign that possibly more than one instance is running.

Re: dayfile.txt with more than one entry for some days
Thank you for the answer.
I can see the duplicate entries in dayfile.txt ( for example: this month days 1 to 8)
When winzip created diags.zip it show up a message saying about files in use. Do I need to close cumulus when zipping the folder?
In the pc cumulus starts as a service. Could this be cause of problems?
Thank you.

Not normally, but it sounds like some files were being written to at the time.rogerio53 wrote:When winzip created diags.zip it show up a message saying about files in use. Do I need to close cumulus when zipping the folder?
Yes - if you have any of the 'restart' options set in Cumulus, it is possible that the instance running as a service doesn't get stopped, or perhaps gets restarted by Windows. When Cumulus restarts itself, that instance will not be running as a service. In the pc cumulus starts as a service. Could this be cause of problems?

Thank you for the answer.
Yes, I have the two restart options enabled.
I am going to disable them, wait some days and tell you the results.
Thank you very much.
