I have searched all of the posts on using the RPi with MX version and been unable to find an answer to my problem. It may be me but I have spent days on trying to get my VP2 to talk to the RPi. I have an Eee pc running Ubuntu which works well taking data from the VP2, but I have been trying to run a RPi 2 headless with no sucess. When I run CumulusMX on the Pi it comes up with the initial screen but I am unable to input any station data. also connecting to the data logger of the VP2 does not happen. I have checked that the usb to serial cable is working, I have set the data settings to the VP2 I can see the speed set is correct, I may be wrong but I think I may have a set up problem with the program caused by the Pi, I have removed it and reloaded it but still have the same problem I get the first screen after using (http:// ip address /8998/) but am unable to interact with it I also am unable to operate apart from scrolling the screen.
Very frustrating as the set up for the Eee pc was easy and basically the same as the RPi.

Re: CumulusMX not talking to RPi
If you zip up the MXdiags folder and attach it, I'll take a look. Did you start with a completely fresh install on the Pi, or did you copy the settings over from the Eee pc?
Are you trying to browse the interface on the Pi itself, or from another platform on your local network?
What version mono are you using?

Sounds like you need to install and use another web browser - that is, if you are accessing the first screen from the pi itself.menheniotmet wrote:I get the first screen after using (http:// ip address /8998/) but am unable to interact with it I also am unable to operate apart from scrolling the screen.

I have had a think and have decided to re-try unfortunately other work gets in the way of playing.steve wrote:If you zip up the MXdiags folder and attach it, I'll take a look. Did you start with a completely fresh install on the Pi, or did you copy the settings over from the Eee pc?

I am using the latest release of mono.
I have tried to browse the interface on the Pi and also another platform on my local network (I think I need to read up on Port protocols) I will try copying across the settings from the Eee before I resort to sending the MXdiags folder. I think some of the problem was trying to sort out the pi and also trying it headless at the same time and struggling with Debian!
