WXNOW.txt File Creation

Hi and thanks for letting me in!

Have been running Cumulus on Windows 10 laptop for a week now - no problems so far! Station is Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus.

In the program help section I found a comment ".......to be added to the WXNOW.txt file, if you have Cumulus creating one. ."

But I can't find (and pity the poor old and blind if I just didn't see it!) any information in the Help ot FAQs on how to get Cumulus to create a WXNOW.txt file.

It would be useful if I could create this file as I can then use it through UI-View32 to transmit weather data with my APRS beacon (G6NBK before you ask!)

At present I use Cumulus to upload to APRS directly over the internet (no problems there!).

Help and advice always welcome - you CAN teach an old dog........!

Robin

It creates it by default, in the Cumulus folder, once a minute, unless you have disabled it by setting

CreateWxnowTxt=0

in the [Station] section of Cumulus.ini

Thanks Steve.........found it!

(Excuse my asking, I'm sure there's more than 1 person living in Sanday (!), but you weren't connected with the Sanday Light Railway by any mischance? My reason for asking is I inherited a steam loco from the SLR which I am still running.)

The railway closed at about the time we moved to the island. A railway enthusiast friend of mine here inherited the track (some or all of it, I can't remember), and I helped him move it, but that's the limit of my involvement with the SLR.

Ok. Thanks for your help. Davis VPro2+ now connected to APRS via Cumulus. Sorted.
