The crash is because it's trying to write to month.ini to set a new high/low for this month, but Windows says the file is open. MX has locks in place which should stop it trying to write to file from more than one thread at a time, so it's likely that it is open for some other reason. You seem to have some kind of problem with your ftp server:

2016-03-01 09:53:47.355 Error connecting ftp - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 192.168.2.40:21

Are you doing something yourself with month.ini? Transferring it by ftp, perhaps?

Note that the latest version of MX has changes which may prevent files being left open if there is an ftp problem.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for that, no I do not have ftp server setup with xamp so I'm transferring files locally with .bat files etc.

I thought I had CMX setup not to FTP (though trying to get realtime to work I must have had a wrong check box's checked (as it also lives in the ftp section which confuses me).

I am not sure I have it all setup correctly and will have to send you a PM on the weekend as extremely snowed under with work and property issues at present (we are in the driest summer to my knowledge and my property has cracks all over the 6.8acres to the point our main house is moving) have structural engineer arriving later today (neighbors has one same). so a tad busy.

However I think I have it running stable at present and no failures for past 9 hrs. I did also notice a few date/time issues on the laptop with various records for other programs around that time and wonder if the month change did something time wise.

Anyway I'll do as I said and try and pm you a detailed account of my setup and issues on the weekend, thank you for your time. Greatly appreciated.

Hi Steve,

The attached link to another issue I had around the same time, (most likely not related - though just throwing it out there in case it may).

Date/Time related issue on Feb/16 to Mar/16 : (I feel caused issues across the board) though as usual open to be proven wrong.
