CumulusMX being Flagged by MalwareBytes

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

CumulusMX being Flagged by MalwareBytes

Post by mwittl »

Steve,

Here is what happens. I have a paid subscription to Malwarebytes. Using my Windows 10 PC that also runs CumulusMX, I will occasionally hit a web site with my Edge browser that Malwarebytes flags as a dangerous site and will block it. As soon as this occurs, Malwarebytes starts notifying me that CumulusMX is attempting outbound traffic to that blocked site. It's like it gets attached to the CumulusMX process. The notifications will continue about CumulusMX trying to access a blocked site until I reboot the PC. Not sure what is going on here, but this can be recreated anytime I accidently hit a blocked site with my browser. See attached image showing Malwarebytes warning.

I can't think of any reason that MX would try to access a site that you had attempted to visit using your browser - I think that Malwarebytes must be confused.
