VP2 Repeater.

I have a VP2 wireless with 'non green dot logger' which has developed a barometer fault. I was going to have this repaired until someone gave me a 'new' console with no logger but which would require a new (green dot) logger.
Before I dismantle my system could any one tell me if I could use 'new' console with no logger gathering data from ISS etc., repeating to 'old' console with logger to PC. Which barometer value would be logged? I'm guessing this is not broadcast but taken from local console.
I accept that the easiest/simplest solution would be a new logger. ;)

Thanks.

Correct, pressure is taken from the console, or Envoy if you were to use that rather than a full console. Not sure though what happens with repeating.

Good luck,
Paul

Thanks Paul.
Just for the record, the above setup does work but as expected the barometer value comes from the console connected to the PC, which is what I was trying to avoid.
Also, worth noting, over the distance I'm using, (about 30metres and 4 stone walls, 1 floor) the Console to Console gives a much better signal than my wi-fi network from a 'repeater'.

My impression is that repeater mode only repeats incoming data, and does not pass along any data recorded locally at the console which is transmitting the repeater signal.

I had turned on repeater mode because the console in my kitchen senses an indoor temperature much more appropriate for long-term logging than does the Envoy attached to my PC in my study, which is in a remote corner of the house.

As the Envoy is able to hear the ISS on its own, it turned out that repeater mode was useless to my particular purposes, and I turned it off.
