Dew Point Spikes - what's the reason?

For the last few weeks I've noticed occasional spikes in humidity and dew point temp. Does it point to a failing sensor? They don't seem frequent enough for a failing sensor as they haven't become more frequent. ISS will be 7 years old in March.

Ray, do they coincide with humidity spikes? Those SHT sensors often seem to spike, I'm not sure if it is how the ISS reads them (I suspect it may be) or intrinsic to the sensor. I haven't noticed spikes when reading a sensor directly from a Raspberry Pi, but my ISS data often contains them.

Hi Mark,

Yes they do. If you get them too then I won't worry too much. All this damp weather might be a factor.

I get them too - when humidity is high. It would be nice if the spike removal functionality could be used to remove them, but I don't think spike removal can be used on Davis kit.

I'm not far from Manchester, the drizzle capital of the world! Humidity is always high here except spring when I get my lowest readings of the year.
