Where is my data?

Hi. I was given my WS1093 for Christmas. I am a complete novice but I have managed to put it together, set it up and download cumulus. Due to the location of my pc, I can't leave the console connected and my plan was to connect the base station with the pc on a weekly basis. I understand that I must not run Cumulus unless I have the base station connected. I assumed that when they connect, the data from the station is transferred automatically to the pc and is stored there. However, I have had problems with the base station and it keeps re-setting. I have replaced the batteries in the transmitter and the base and connected it today hoping that any new data would provide a comparison with the previous data. However, the Cumulus screen seems only to show today's data; it's as if it hadn't been connected before. Can you advise? I realise this is probably everything to do with me but any help (of a VERY simple kind) would be gratefully received. I think I may be out of my depth but before I give up on this thing I'd like to see if I can make it all work. Thanks

If your station keeps resetting, it's quite likely that there is no archive data available for Cumulus to download when it starts up. If you zip up the diags folder and attach it to a reply, I'll take a look (if required, instructions are in the post linked to near the top of the forum - "Please click here before posting...").

Hello. Thank you for the response. I think I have attached as required. Never done that before either!

Your station isn't logging archive data (most of the time), or possibly it is logging but because it keeps resetting, that data is lost. When you started Cumulus us today at 11:49, there were actually about 20 archive entries available, so Cumulus was at least able to download those, but at a 1-minute interval, they only covered the previous 20 minutes, so most of the period since Cumulus was last running (last Thursday) was missing.
So there seems to be some kind of problem with your station. You could try changing the batteries, if you haven't done that already.
As an aside, as you have the station logger set to a 1-minute interval, then leaving it four days between running Cumulus would mean you would have had a gap in your data anyway, even if it had been working properly. The logger holds 4080 entries, so at a 1-minute interval, that's less than three days before the oldest data starts getting overwritten.

Thank you Steve. I will try to reset the logging interval. I didn't really understand what it meant or how it would affect the way I used it. I think I should have started with a children's weather station! Isobel
