Hi,
sorry for bothering, but I tried everything and just cannot figure out how to connect Cumulus with the Vantage Vue Station and download weather data.
If it is as simple as in the description, Cumulus should find the station - or is it wrong to put the 'public ip' into the IP adress filed?
The thing is that station is in Namibia and I was not the one installing it, so I also wonder if I have all the necessary information. I do have the WeatherLink Login, but only get the summary screen.
I attach 2 pics expalining the issue, I hope you can help me.
Thank you,
Matthias

Re: No connection to Vantage Vue station
Normally you would use the local IP address of the WLIP rather than a public address - unless you are trying to connect Cumulus to it across the internet?

Re: No connection to Vantage Vue station
Thanks for your quick reply.
Yes, this is actually what I'm trying to do - connect Cumulus via the internet to the station and download the data from there...
Do you have an idea what I need to do?

I don't know how well that would work in practice. But presumably firewalls and routers are set up correctly to allow access and do the port forwarding?

Has access to port 22222 been opened up at the remote end (105.232.160.3) via port forwarding or whatever is being used?

Re: No connection to Vantage Vue station
Unfortunately I cannot change the setting for the firewall here within the company. I will try at my home computer again.
How do I allow access and do the port forwarding though?
I'm sorry for these questions, but I've never done that.
@mcrossley: I don't know, because I cannot do any changes from here or via Weatherlink, neither I can access any of the configuration settings. The only thing I can access with the user name and password is that stupid Weatherlink Network showing me the current rainfall and season summary.
Thanks, appreciate your posts!

Re: No connection to Vantage Vue station
How you do it depends on the type of router, but there's a kind of generic guide here - http://www.wikihow.com/Set-Up-Port-Forw ... n-a-Router
