I just installed cumulusmx on a rapsbeerypi running jessie.

Everything seems to run fine but when I go to the address I see that everything is on 0 and is not bringing in data.

root@raspberrypi:/home/cumulus/CumulusMX# mono CumulusMX.exe
Current culture: English (United Kingdom)
Serial: 74FECEABEB2DA94ECB5EBA0CD11A7137
Cumulus MX v.3.0.0 build 3036
Today.ini = data/today.ini
Last update=2016-01-03T17:53:23
Connected to station
18:37:31 Downloading Archive Data
Cumulus running at: http://*:8998/
(Replace * with any IP address on this machine, or localhost)
Starting web socket server on port 8002
03/01/2016 18:37:32
Type Ctrl-C to terminate
18:37:34 Downloading Archive Data
18:37:39 Normal running

I am connecting to a MeteoHub system. Works without a problem with Cumulus1 on Windows.
Any ideas?

If you zip up the MXdiags folder and attach it, I'll take a look. It could just be that 'web sockets' aren't working on your system, so you could try switching to 'Ajax' - see one of the recent release announcements. If the problem is with web sockets, this would only affect the Dashboard, Now, and Gauges pages, so a confirmation would be whether you can see data on the Today/Yesterday page, and the Charts page.

Steve,

Thank you for your reply.
Please see attached zip as requested.

I think there is something else going on because its not retrieving any data at all.
Everything is 0.0 and the now tab is 0.0 and 999's...

Here is a snippet of today.ini

[General]
Date=1/3/2016
Timestamp=2016-01-03T17:53:23
CurrentYear=2016
CurrentMonth=1
CurrentDay=3

[Wind]
Speed=0
SpTime=00:00
Gust=0
Time=00:00
Bearing=0
Direction=N
Windrun=0
DominantWindBearing=0
DominantWindBearingMinutes=0
DominantWindBearingX=0
DominantWindBearingY=0

As you can see is all 0 :(

Has the user got write permissions on today.ini file.

what does it say on your web interface any values on there? is the station receiving updates?

Yes the application runs as root, The permissions on the whole CumulusMX is 777 (Yes I know it should not be 777 :) )

All values on the web interface are 0.0, 999, and -999.
So looks like its not retrieving data.

You're right, it's not getting any data. Does this use some kind of 'passthrough' to the logger via the meteohub? You may need to set a DavisIPResponseTime value in Cumulus.ini - see the last few posts in this thread: https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=13123

There is your first point of call.

Steve,

Thats right, Meteohub and Meteobridge have the ability to passthrough data to any PC application. In sense it acts just like a Davis Weather Link IP.
Right now it works just fine with Cumulus for Windows.

Very odd things are starting to happen.... When I shutdown Cumulus and fire-up CumulusMX I am starting to see that CumulusMX is interrupting the sensor communication.
So strange :?

I don't know how MX can do that when (as I understand it) all it is doing is communicating with the logger via the meteohub. But I seem to remember that the console does not update when the logger is sending archive data, so perhaps that is what is happening.

Maybe that's the issue.
Do you know how long it will take for it to finish?

If it's sending the entire contents it may take a couple of minutes or so, but if communication is dodgy, maybe more. And with a long DavisIPResponseTime setting, even more, as in the thread I linked to. Have you set that yet? You will probably need to, the meteo things seem to need MX to slow down a bit and not get impatient.

I know what you mean... Like I said its very odd....
For me to have meteohub regain its sensors back I have to restart the logger. Once I do that meteohub continues to work just fine.
I just restarted CumulusMX on the Pi...

I got:

Code: Select all

9:10:34 AM Downloading Archive Data
9:10:39 AM Normal running
So yes looks like is downloading archive data... I am Going to leave it alone and report back...

Thank you all for the help!

Going to set that now.

Thanks! :)

The 'normal running' message means that it has finished downloading archive data (either successfully or it couldn't get any).
