Rainfall since midnight

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

If you zip up the diags folder and your today.ini file, I'll take a look later, but I have other things I have to do now. I've spent most of the day so far on the forum.

You don't seem to have used the today's rain editor? You seem to have manually edited today.ini and set the Start figure to 2.1?

Please do the following:

Open the today's rain editor. Take a screen shot. Change "Today's rain" to the correct value corresponding to the actual amount of rain that has fallen today, and click 'apply'. Take another screen shot.

Check that today's rain figure in Cumulus is now correct. Wait until Cumulus has written another log file entry. You're using a 1-minute interval, so you only need to wait a couple of minutes. Stop Cumulus tidily. Start it up again. If today's rain is not correct, zip up the MXdiags folder, today.ini, and the two screen shots taken previously, and attach them.

I haven't looked at the files. I asked for those if using the editor didn't work. You said it worked?

It did work but when i change values in monthly.ini yearly.ini monthlyalltime.ini it changes it back in Rainfall Today to 234mm.

This leaves false record results for january 1st and 2nd 2016.

Sorry, but that is simply not possible. Editing month.ini, year.ini or monthlyalltime.ini cannot possibly change the displayed rainfall for today. If that is happening, then either you are changing something else, or you have some other problem.

There is information in the FAQ and the wiki about correcting rainfall, some of it is specific to Cumulus 1, but the basics apply to MX too.

For example, to correct this month's highest daily rainfall, you stop Cumulus, edit month.ini, and change the following lines:

DailyHigh=
HDailyTime=

Changing those lines cannot change today's total.

In the files you attached, your figure for today's rain was correct - 0.3 mm

It helps others if you let us know what you did to correct the problem, and hopefully if people search the Forum they will find your solution and not ask the same question of Steve again.
