return from holiday and found Cumulus was reporting rainfall on 26/12/15 of 11 (eleven!) metres.
Two questions
1 is this a software issue? I have attached the bug report.
2 I there a guide to removing this entry from month and year totals?
using 1.9.4 1098

Re: rainfall error
The bug report is old and nothing to do with your rainfall issue. If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, I'll take a look, but basically this is just one of the things that Fine Offset stations tend to do from time to time. Cumulus automatically filters out a lot of the garbage, and then there are the spike removal settings, but it's hard to cope perfectly with absolutely every crazy thing the station does.
There is a lot of information in the FAQ and the wiki about correcting rainfall figures, but to correct monthly and annual totals, you just need to edit the total for that day in the dayfile.txt editor and then restart Cumulus.
