Cumulusmx webfiles not updating ....

Hi , Steve and can I really appreciate what you do here!
But , I have a problem that my local web files will not update!
Everything else appears to be working just fine but this.
I have auto update set and no faulty or missing sensors.
When I try ignoring the sensor check ( adding nosensor check to station ) some of my weather station sensors go blank.
If I then remove this , they all work normally.
I have Davis vantage Pro 2 weather station , and it works just fine.
Any ideas that may fix this for me?
Regards Keith

What do you mean by "my local web files will not update"? Do you mean that the standard web pages that MX generates in the 'web' folder are not being updated on your PC? Or something else?

Hi Steve.
Yes , the standard web pages that MX generates in the 'web' folder are not being updated.
I'll attach my ini and mxdiags files for you to see how I have things setup.

Please don't upload files containing passwords.
For some reason, you have added the standard web pages to the 'extra files' list. You don't need to do that, they are standard files and are hence handled automatically if you have the 'include...' settings ticked.
Are you sure that the files aren't being updated locally (i.e. on the PC on which MX is running) in the MX web folder? There is no index.htm file being generated in there? You have the interval set to 90 minutes - have you actually waited that long to see if they update?

Sorry my bad , I forgot to remove the password.
I have tried uploading just using the standard files setting and it does not work for me.
That is why I have added them as extra files and that works ok.
I have had the interval setting at 90 mins for a few days now and at no time has the software generated any webfiles.
What is the minimum setting for interval that you suggest?

I'm confused - you say that adding them as extra files works OK, but in the extra files section you are specifying the files which Cumulus is generating locally as part of the standard update. If they are not being updated locally, then that cannot be working.
The minimum update interval is one minute.

To prove the ftp was working , I copied the *.htm files from a backup install.
So the only files in the web folder are these test files.
No new ones are being generated.
To get these files to ftp I had to add them to the extra files setup as the standard files setting did not appear to work.
Hope this clears things up.

OK, so you have created those htm files rather than having MX generate them.
Could you please zip up the MXdiags folder and attach it? I'd like to see an example of where you have had MX running for at least 90 minutes.

Note that you have different settings for the standard files and your extra files. For the standard files you have configured
Directory=localhost/cumulus/
but for the extra files, you have just supplied a filename:
ExtraRemote0=index.htm
They cannot both be correct. If the extra files version is correct, then you need to leave the standard files directory blank, as you haven't supplied a directory for the extra files.

Before I posted here I cleared out the MXdiags folder apart from the file I sent to you.
So there is only the one in there now.
Since then I have changed the interval setting to 1 minute to see if this changed things.
No change I'm afraid.
I've attached the txt file from MXdiags for you to see.

Perhaps it's something to do with the fact that you have installed MX on your desktop, a permissions problem or similar. I can't see any reason for MX not to be creating the files in the web folder. You say it's doing the ftp OK from the extra files setting, so it's clearly running the task periodically. It creates the files just before it does the ftp.
You're running MX as administrator, yes?

Yes , I run cumulus as Admin.
Ok , so taking the advice of your post prior to this ...
I have now left blank the ftp directory for the standard files.
I assume that this means the upload will be into my webserver root directory?
I disabled the extra files to see if the standard upload worked and it didn't work.

Not necessarily. It will go into wherever your ftp account is configured to start in. That's also what your extra files configuration will be doing.
Is it creating the graph data files in the CumulusMX directory - e.g. tempdata.json?
Do you have the web page template files in the CumulusMX\web directory, the ones with a 'T' in them, e.g. indexT.htm?

it appears to have the files , but they are not new as they have the date when I installed cumulus.

Yes , they are all there.
Regarding the ftp directory , do I have to put the full path in rather than a blank?

If your ftp account logs you in at the correct place for your files, leaving it blank should be all you need. The full path may also work.
I'm out of ideas, I'm afraid. I don't know of anyone else with this problem, but I don't know if anyone else has installed MX on their desktop. I can only suggest that you try moving it to C:\CumulusMX to see if that helps. Perhaps doing that with a fresh install if not.
