Cumulus Support

If you have a USB logger, you need to select a serial connection, and you don't need an IP address; Cumulus cannot connect to a USB logger using an IP address - ipconfig is telling you what your PC's IP address is, not the address of your logger. If you run Weatherlink, it will search for the correct com port for you. If you were previously using Cumulus, then the same port number will work for MX, assuming you haven't changed anything on your system. If you had '3' configured in Cumulus, for example, then COM3 is what you need in MX.

Weatherlink connects to COM3 OK.
This is what I now have in Settings.

The only settings you need are to select 'serial' and put COM3 for your serial port name. Those TCP/IP settings are ignored for serial connections. If it has stopped working, then perhaps the USB/serial drivers have assigned a different port - you would need to look in device manager for the cp210x entry.

Are you using the latest drivers from the Silicon Labs web site? Is your logger connected firmly - the Vue can apparently have an issue where the logger can become lose.

The settings were still the same but I pulled out the USB plug and put it back and all is well again.

No I had not but just checked to make sure.
Cumulus always connects to my PC and downloads data with no problems.
Again, I have no connection and after a whille get a message "The connection is closed"
It seems it was never open.

It seems the problem lies with Firefox, IE10 always connects whereas FF does not.
I have setup FF to ALLOW http://localhost:8998/ but that did not help.

Some others have had problems with Firefox.

Firefox, Chrome, IE11, and Edge all work perfectly for me with MX.

But note that the browser has nothing at all to do with the connection between Cumulus and your weather station, which is the problem you were apparently having earlier in this thread.
