I have been running Cumulus via my laptop and Davis Vantage Vue for about a year with no problems, recently and randomly I get error 32701 at various
times of the day and night,I have checked that the hard drive does not go into sleep mode.
To resolve the issue I shut the software down disconnect the USB to the Davis, reconnect and boot up the software and all works very well for a while.
WHY should this happen, its becoming very annoying my website is chestfieldweather.com and its connected to Awekas, the Met Office and weather underground.
I have reseated the PCB in the consul and cleaned the USB connections to no avail.
When Cumulus is working its a fabulous system well done Steve, the problem has to be my PC me thinks.
Can anyone shine some light on this issue before I go any greyer or kick the cat. PLEASE ??

Re: Error 32701
I believe I have read that there are problems with some versions of the Vue, where the logger does not sit firmly in the console and can become loose - perhaps that's your problem?
Have you made sure to disable USB power saving, both in the Power settings, and in device manager?
Here's a recent thread with someone with a similar problem with a Vue: https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=14527
Please don't kick the cat

Re: Error 32701
I had the same problem today with a new Davis Vantage Pro2 with Weatherlink IP. After clearing the console as it had some bad data during setup, Cumulus could not find it until I removed and replaced the IP dongle.

Re: Error 32701
Learning troubles. Regarding the Davis IP device comment I made two posts back - I think there is no plug/connection problem with it. What may have happened was that, due to haste, I installed on my network with dynamic IP instead of fixed. Possibly someone using a phone on WiFi left the WiFi area and the IP's got re-assigned. This also happened while I was away and unable to fix it. That time it appears the Internet Provider may have rebooted my modem, because it ran OK for quite a while. Cumulus was trying to contact the Console via the wrong IP.
If using the Davis IP device, make sure the Console uses a fixed IP address..
(I corrected my location for duke. The 'C' key is next to the 'V'
