graphs in trends not displaying.

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

As you can see nothing is displaying, not sure if its permissions again.

Any ideas?

Hi Richard,

I can see that the .json files are present on your website so it's probably a script error in the cumuluscharts.js file. Steve will be able to help you more on this.

I turned on the debugger with F12 and then started a Network debug and this indicated on a page refresh that your graphconfig.json is missing on your server ( error 404).

Have you configured (i.e ticked) "Include graph data files" in the Web/FTP settings in the Internet Settings in Cumulus MX?

I you have are they being uploaded to the correct position on your Server?

You have a missing JSON file for some reason: http://kirbymuxloe-weather.dyndns.org/graphconfig.json

I didn't look for that file because I thought that file was uploaded along with the other XXXXdata.json files? He should have that ticked if the XXXXdata.json files are present.

I think you are copying the files locally rather than using ftp, so the likely explanation is that you have missed graphconfig.json from the list of files to be copied.

I'm not using FTP because the webserver and cumulus are on the same box so I'm using the local to remote filenames.

Apparently graphconfig.json wasn't in my webserver directory due to 2 reasons.

I mistyped graph I put "grapg" instead of graphconfig.json. Once I corrected it in local filenames and remote filenames and ticked process it still didn't copy it over so I just used a ftp client called WinSCP and moved it from Cumulus directory to the directory of my webserver directory and it works now. Dunno why it didn't copy it over oh well it works now.

You don't need 'process' ticked for the json files, because they don't need processing - they are generated by Cumulus from data within Cumulus and contain actual data already. Only where a 'template' file containing web tags is specified for the local file does 'process' need to be selected.

Thanks Steve,

Dunno why i couldnt copy over from cumulus directory to webserver directory. All json files are within /home/cumulus/CumulusMX and all .json files are in webserver directory also thats ok isnt it just dont need process ticked just local and remote filenames with .json files in them?

Yes, the graphconfig.json file is just the same as the other graph json files, so the same settings should work for that as for the data files. Any changes should take effect immediately, but perhaps a restart would get it working. But as you seem to have realised, that file doesn't actually change, so copying it manually once is all you really need anyway.
