USB Connection of WS3080 -> Station not found

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

USB Connection of WS3080 -> Station not found

Post by sverose »

Hello,

hope somebody can help me.

I tried to use my WS3080 with UV-Sensor in CumulusMX 3034 at my raspberry pi 2 B.

I set "/dev/bus/usb/001/005" for ComportName in Cumulus.ini and Type=7.

But Cumulus allways says, "Fine Offset station not found".

With lsusb i get:
...
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 1941:8021 Dream Link WH1080 Weather Station / USB Missile Launcher
...

Thanks.

Do you have libudev0 installed? What version of Mono are you using? Are you running as root (with sudo)?

(You don't need to set a com port name for a Fine Offset station, it's not a serial device)

I have installed the following versions:

libudev0: 175-7.2

mono: 3.2.8+dfsg-10
(( Depends: mono-runtime (= 3.2.8+dfsg-10), mono-runtime-sgen (= 3.2.8+dfsg-10), libmono-2.0-1 (= 3.2.8+dfsg-10), libmono-profiler (= 3.2.8+dfsg-10), mono-utils (= 3.2.8+dfsg-10), mono-jay (= 3.2.8+dfsg-10), mono-devel (= 3.2.8+dfsg-10), mono-mcs (= 3.2.8+dfsg-10), mono-csharp-shell (= 3.2.8+dfsg-10), mono-2.0-gac (= 3.2.8+dfsg-10), mono-4.0-gac (= 3.2.8+dfsg-10), mono-2.0-service (= 3.2.8+dfsg-10), mono-4.0-service (= 3.2.8+dfsg-10), monodoc-base (= 3.2.8+dfsg-10), monodoc-manual (= 3.2.8+dfsg-10), libmono-cil-dev (= 3.2.8+dfsg-10) ))

Yes, I started cumulus with sudo.

Any idea?

You seem to be running the same setup that most people have, so I don't know why it doesn't work for you. If you zip up the MXdiags folder and attach it here, I'll see if I can see anything.

Hi Steve,

ok, you can see the attached logfile.

Thanks.
Sven

PS. By the way, I tried CumulusMX on my Windows 7 Pro notebook and the station was found without any problems.

The diags file doesn't help, unfortunately.

It could be that the USB HID component thinks that your system doesn't have the necessary requirements (as the station is clearly being recognised by the system). What is the output from 'uname -s' and 'uname -r'?

The outputs are:

for "uname -s": Linux

and for "uname -r": 4.1.13-v7+

Thanks.

Those look OK. You do have 'meta' package mono-complete installed, yes?

Yes, I have installed mono with "mono-completet". Now I updated mono to Version "4.2.1.102-0xamarin1", but no change. Station not found.

Mono 4.2 definitely won't work, this is already known. I don't know why it won't work for you (with Mono 3.2.8) if you have followed the instructions correctly - sorry.

On the weekend, i will format the sd-card and try a complete new setup, and hope it will work after this.

Thanks.
