After much reading I still can not figure out how to get the realtime.txt file produce by cumulus to be placed on my hard drive. Could someone tell me what has to be checked out on the menu's, and how to tell the program where to store in on my hard drive. Once it is on my hard drive I will be using it in transmit that information via amateur radio on a digital system.

Thanks

To get Cumulus to create the realtime.txt file on your hard drive at the interval that you have configured, you just need to select 'Enable realtime' in the internet settings. It will then create it in the Cumulus installation folder.

If you want it to copy it somewhere else on your hard drive, then you need to add it to the 'extra files', specifying the full path to the realtime.txt as the local file, and the full path and file name of where you want it copied as the remote file. Select 'realtime', but don't select 'ftp' or 'process'.

Here are two screen shots of the program. Maybe I have something not checked.

Try this;
Local file name:
F:\cumulus\realtime.txt
remote filename:
F:\Data\wx\realtime.txt

An existing file is being copied on the same system. The full filespec is required, i.e. fullpathname AND full filename.
This is a copy operation by Cumulus. The "copy" is inherent in the form unless you specify ftp. Cumulus needs to know where from and what, and, where to and what.
This process can also be used to copy the file to a new name is desired.

Presumably it's not working because you don't have Cumulus installed in F:\cumulus. Where is Cumulus installed, and where do you want the file to be copied?

You have to give the full path and filename for both the local and remote files.
For local, you need to put the full path to the directory containing Cumulus, with \realtime.txt on the end
For remote, you need to put the full path to the directory that you want it copied to, with \realtime.txt on the end

Got it working from your suggestion. Thanks very much. My next step is to produce a marco from the text file for the amateur radio PSK31. Thanks again.
