Cumulus MX Will Not Start On Startup
Hi Steve,
For some reason, even though I have created and dragged a CumulusMX.exe shortcut into my Startup folder, CumulusMX will not start on startup.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

You could try Right click on the shortcut and select Properties, click Advanced and select Run as administrator.Grimers wrote:Hi Steve,

Re: Cumulus MX Will Not Start On Startup
Does the shortcut have the working directory set to the Cumulus folder?

Yes, this is the first tab of the "Properties" window of the shortcut.

Just to be clear, by 'startup', you do mean 'user log-in' rather than the computer starting?

Yes, when the computer logs in, ideally it would be nice for Cumulus to start up automatically.mcrossley wrote:Just to be clear, by 'startup', you do mean 'user log-in' rather than the computer starting?

Re: Cumulus MX Will Not Start On Startup
The problem is the UAC prompt, see this thread - https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=12948
You can either use the netsh command given in the instructions, so that you then don't need to run it as administrator, or you can use Task Scheduler as mentioned in that thread.

Ah right, thanks Steve.steve wrote:The problem is the UAC prompt, see this thread - https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=12948

EDIT: Ok, I managed to get it to open on startup. But, now I get this error. I've zipped up the MXdiags folder as requested.

Re: Cumulus MX Will Not Start On Startup
It's not starting in the correct folder. Look at the "Could not find a part of the path" message.

Re: Cumulus MX Will Not Start On Startup
Sorry, I do not understand what you mean. Which "folder"? I have the task set up so that it opens the CumulusMX.exe file from the F:\CumulusMX folder. I'm not sure why it's referencing C:\Windows\system32...steve wrote:It's not starting in the correct folder. Look at the "Could not find a part of the path" message.
EDIT: I've fixed it. You had to specify the actual folder that it was starting in e.g. F:\CumulusMX.
