I see that Cumulus is started from HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Run so it should start running before the logon prompt. However I noticed that when my PC rebooted overnight because of a power cut, Cumulus hadn't started during the time that my PC was sitting at the logon prompt. As soon as I logged on, it began running and very quickly (much more quickly than normal) checked for and downloaded the missing data between the time of reboot and the current time - as if the program had been running but the synchronisation with the Davis Vantage Vue was delayed until logon.
Is this normal? It's a bit of a pain because the weather station only logs data points every half an hour rather than every 10 minutes, so I need to go in and hand-modify the Nov15log.txt file by duplicating data for the missing points. As a matter of interest, is there a way with Davis stations of decreasing the time between points that it logs internally for uploading if Cumulus has not been running for a few hours.
I'm using v1.9.4 (1097) of Cumulus.

Re: Starting Cumulus before user logon
You must have done something yourself to make that happen, Cumulus doesn't do that.martinu wrote:I see that Cumulus is started from HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Run
No, programs in the Run section run when a user logs on. If you want to run something before logon, the usual way to do this is to make it a service. There are utilities to allow 'normal' programs like Cumulus to run as a service, and I believe some people have used those successfully, although there may be issues accessing the Cumulus screen once you do log on. It's not something I've ever tried myself, so I can't offer any specific advice.so it should start running before the logon prompt.
The easiest way is to do it using the Weatherlink software. Be aware that changing the interval deletes the logger contents. As a matter of interest, is there a way with Davis stations of decreasing the time between points that it logs internally
