Viewing extra sensors on web page (VP2):soil temp

Post by hydrocynus »

Dear all,
I believe that this is not supported yet as I have looked and it seems that you have to come up with your own code. I have a weather station on a lake VP2 and it will broadcast data on the web (it already does) including the water temp (it currently does not).

I can see the extra temp in the view extra sensor but I do not know how to get that temperature to the web site. Maybe a quick work around would be to substitute water temp to the windchill temp since we are in Florida and it rarely gets below 10c here.

Thanks for your help!

The supplied web pages are basic 'samples' as a 'quick start' to setting up a web site. I'm afraid I do not have the time or resources to create customised web sites for everyone, and I am no web designer anyway. The wiki has information on modifying the supplied web pages - http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Customised_templates - how to use 'web tags' to do this, and following on from this you can create your own web pages. There are also alternative web sites available from third parties which may meet your requirements better. See the downloads section, and the sections of the forum which deal with some of the more popular web sites which have been created to work with Cumulus.

Modifying the existing page to replace wind chill is quite straightforward and may be all you need. See the wiki for the list of web tags, including the soil temperature ones.
