Installation failure

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

Installation failure

Post by NEJFD »

Errors out during install at command prompt. I'mm not sure if I missing something. Facts:

Unzipped to C\CumulusMX\

Ran CumulusMX.exe as Administrator

DOS box opens and runs, then errors out.

Windows 10

64-bit OS, 8 GB RAM

Part of a Domain

Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by "errors out"? There are no indications of any problems in the diags file - it starts up successfully, and then a couple of minutes later it gets closed down. What do you see at the command prompt - an error message, presumably? Or do you mean that you are getting an error in your browser?

I don't completely understand the install procedure. After executing cumulusmx.exe what do I do next? I've attached a screen shot of the command prompt, which is no longer giving an error. I was thinking it installed Cumulus but it doesn't. Where do I start Cumulus and set up my Station and internet setting? I see the folder with the HTML (Interface folder) and can open in my browser (Chrome) but there is no place to enter data.

Thanks for any help you can give me and the prompt reply.

Instructions are in this post - https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=12908

You need to put the displayed URL (where it says "Cumulus running at...") into your browser, replacing the '*' with your IP address or just 'localhost' if your browser is on the the same machine as Cumulus, i.e, http://localhost:8998/

It can't communicate with the station - are you running Cumulus 1 at the same time?

SUCCESS! The running as localhost was what I was missing. All settings inputted and it seems to be running fine. Thanks so much for your help!
