C1 + CMX to one VP2 = bad juju

This may be common knowledge amongst CMX users, but it's bitten me twice, so I thought I should post something about it.
We have had our cumuluspi running for about a week, so I felt fairly comfortable about leaving it running while we went away for long weekend. No problems & it was still running fine when we returned.
However, I had turned off my Windows/C1 system while we were gone, and I had not taken cumulus out of the Windows Startup group. When the Windows/C1 system booted up, it killed my pi/CMX application (because VP2 can't deal with two simultaneous requestors).
Fixing it is more complicated than I expected. I needed to (1) Stop CMX, (2) Reboot the VP2, (3) wait about 10 minutes, and (4) Restart CMX.
Either the VP2 or CMX (or both) gets its knickers in a twist with multiple weather programs try to collect data from the VP2. After that happens, it seems that everyone needs to restart from square one.
