Hi
I cant seem to remove the extreme negative temps, like -60 deg C from the data record (I live in the tropics so it's definitely wrong!). I have found some of these errors in the dayfile text, and i have edited them to an average value, and tried to do this with the monthly data. However, i just cant seem to shift these from the all time highs and lows. I've followed the instructions on the FAQ but not sure if i'm doing it correctly.
Any other suggestions on what i can do?
Thanks in advance
Mark

Re: Extreme negative temps recorded in error
Your sensor is failing, large negative values are symptomatic of that, as are large positive values such as the ones I'm getting at the moment until my replacement sensor arrives. The Davis sensors don't seem to last long in certain environments (I'm on my fourth here in nine years).
If you've removed the spurious values from dayfile.txt, you can recreate the high/low data by using 'fetch dayfile data' in the various high/low editors. Read the help for the editors to make sure you are using them correctly.

Re: Extreme negative temps recorded in error
Thanks Steve, will try that again.
Worrying to hear about the sensor. It has only happened in January and July, strangely i only just noticed the ones from January. I'll keep an eye on it and if it happens again then i'll contact the Company we purchased it from as we only received it a year ago and put it into action in October.
